Founded in 1996, The Council hosts the annual Giving New Hope Benefit, where they bestow the Giving New Hope Award to a community leader who has demonstrated significant commitment to improving the lives of children. In 2008, The Council debuted the Spirit of Humanity Award, which was given to Tony Maddox of CNN for their exceptional coverage of young burn survivor Youssif. Other volunteer efforts supported by The Council include the annual Children’s Holiday Party and Camp Gung-Ho. The Council has raised more than six million dollars since 1996. |
