Since 1995, the Children’s Burn Foundation has held an annual fundraiser, the Giving New Hope Benefit. The event is hosted by The Council, a volunteer group that works on community outreach and fundraising efforts for the Foundation. Each year, the Foundation presents the Giving New Hope Award to a community leader who has demonstrated significant commitment to giving young people a better future. In 2008, The Council added the Spirit of Humanity Award to recognize exceptional reporting, which has raised public awareness of the Foundation’s numerous programs. Proceeds raised by the benefit provide state-of-the-art medical treatment for children who have suffered severe burn injuries, as well as fire safety and burn prevention programs for children and families in high-risk communities. |
